The COM3000 is an enterprise-grade high-density headend system. Unlike residential systems that require a set-top box per TV, COM3000 ingests satellite feeds globally at the edge of the property, decrypts them once, and distributes up to 138 HD channels directly to guest room TVs using IP multicast or QAM coax.

What signal encryption does the COM3000 support for content protection?

COM3000 supports industry-standard commercial encryption, including Pro:Idiom, DTCP-IP, and AES-128. This ensures compliance with premium content distributor mandates (like HBO, SHOWTIME, etc.) while allowing seamless decryption at the guest room TV or edge media player.

Does the COM3000 support both coaxial and IP-based property networks?

Yes. The system has separate modular output paths. For IP-based networks, it streams pristine Gigabit IP Multicast. For legacy coaxial networks, a QAM modulator sub-chassis can be integrated to convert the channels into digital RF television signals, allowing hotels to upgrade technology without rewiring.

How do we manage or modify the channel lineup once deployed?

The system is fully cloud-managed through DIRECTV's Advanced Entertainment Platform (AEP) and can be administered remotely by Flexizones engineers or your in-house IT team via a secure web console. Channel line-ups, security keys, and blade configurations can be modified without visiting the server room.

What happens if a COM51 blade fails? Is there redundancy?

Yes, the COM3000 supports active N+1 blade redundancy. A backup COM51 blade can be pre-configured in standby mode. If a primary blade experiences telemetry loss, the system initiates an instantaneous, automatic failover, mapping the channels to the backup blade without service interruption.
